It was introduced by one of the highest Lama in the village. He introduced the first design of the carpet, which is “Khikhor” which means “Mandala”, which depicts a tool for gaining wisdom and compassion and is generally depicted as a tightly balanced, geometric composition wherein deities reside. The principal deity is housed in the center. The “mandal” serves as a tool for guiding individuals along the path to enlightenment.
